Motion Photography
For this motion assignment, I decided to focus my theme around the movement of light within a dark space. To emulate this, I used my phone’s flashlight with slow shutter speeds in order to capture the shapes formed by the light’s movement. Not only did I draw out certain shapes such as circles, stars, hearts, etc but I also shook and thew the phone in different motions to capture the natural movement of gravity. Lastly, I also attempted to experiment with capturing the movements of my shadow - however there appeared not to be much motion shown in the shadows. I would say the biggest challenge for this project was trying to avoid capturing the movements of the body, as some of the photos are interrupted by my body movements as I am drawing the shapes.
